About The Position
The float Emergency Department nurse at CoxHealth provides professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages. This role involves triaging and determining priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system. The ED nurse must quickly assess patient needs, prioritize care, stabilize patients, initiate treatment, and manage patient discharge or arrangements for longer hospital stays. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
- Exhibits valuable time management skills
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- RN license active in the state of Missouri

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Previous nursing experience
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care during the initial phase of acute illness or trauma for patients of all ages
