About The Position
ChristianaCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Electrophysiology Lab (EP). This role involves providing procedural assistance and educating patients undergoing cardiac procedures. The Gerret and Tatiana Copeland Arrhythmia Center is a state-of-the-art facility specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of heart-rhythm disorders, utilizing advanced stereotaxis equipment and offering a highly effective atrial fibrillation ablation technique.
Requirements
- DE RN License or RN License from a compact state.
- BSN required or commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire.
- At least two years of RN experience.
- Experience with EKG and Telemetry.
- BLS certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Electrophysiology or other procedural area.
- ACLS preferred.
Responsibilities
- Circulate for pre- and post-procedures and perform RN to RN handoffs.
- Meet all patients, review their history, identify allergies, check medications needed for each case, answer patient and family questions, and transport the patient to the EP Lab.
- Scrub in with the provider for all electrophysiology procedures including pacemaker insertion, internal cardioverter defibrillator insertion, Bi-Ventricular devices, studies, and ablations.
- Act as a recorder, setting up, connecting, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Monitor and perform measurements on the intracardiac recording system.
- Operate the stimulator and ablation generators.
