About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Educator in the Surgery department at Columbia St Mary's Milwaukee. The position is full-time with a day shift schedule. The nurse educator will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities for an assigned service or population. This includes collaborating with nurse managers and staff to identify learning needs, developing and evaluating educational plans and programs, creating teaching tools and instructional materials, and maintaining records of educational activities.

Requirements

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

Educator specializing in Childbirth preferred.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.
Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess learning needs and competencies.
Develop, implement, and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
Identify and/or develop teaching tools and instructional materials.
Keep records of educational activities and prepares reports.
