About The Position
The Registered Nurse Educator for Labor & Delivery will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities for an assigned service or population within the Birth Suites department. This role involves collaborating with nurse managers and staff to identify learning needs and competencies, developing and evaluating educational plans and programs, and creating teaching tools and instructional materials. The educator will also maintain records of educational activities and prepare reports.
Requirements
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.
- Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess learning needs and competencies.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilize methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
- Identify and/or develop teaching tools and instructional materials.
- Keep records of educational activities and prepares reports.
