About The Position

We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. This is a full-time night position, working from 7pm to 7am. The role involves delivering direct patient care, assessing patient conditions, executing physician and nursing orders, and participating in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Nice To Haves

Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
1 year + of ER RN experience
BSN

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement guidelines.
Assess patient conditions, record changes, and communicate critical updates to the interdisciplinary team to support timely, coordinated care decisions.
Execute physician and nursing orders accurately while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety best practices.
Assess discharge planning needs and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe transitions, continuity of care, and positive patient outcomes.
