About The Position

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) located in Watertown, NY. The shift is from 7pm to 7am, with a 36-hour guarantee. The role requires a current NYS RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or obtained within 6 months). Experience with MEDITECH and travel nursing is required. A graduate from an accredited School of Nursing is necessary. While entry-level without ED experience may be considered, a minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience is mandatory. The nurse must be able to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations, possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, provide quality patient care, and assess patient needs (clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual). Safety awareness for self and others, along with the ability to safely use lifts for patient mobility, is crucial. The role demands functioning well in stressful situations with strong problem-solving skills. Leadership abilities for prioritization and delegation are important, with the potential to serve as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are required. Successful completion of a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and defibrillation certification within six months are necessary. IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification must be completed during orientation.

Requirements

  • Current NYS RN license required.

  • TRAVEL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical Care experience preferred.

  • May begin entry level without Emergency Department experience.
