About The Position
As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess. An ER Nurse provides critical care to patients in emergency situations. They assess and prioritize patient needs, administer treatments, perform life-saving procedures, and coordinate with other medical professionals. They also document patient information, manage crises, and provide emotional support to patients and families. Quick decision-making and the ability to handle high-pressure situations are essential.
Requirements
- License to practice in the State of Illinois
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or Red Cross BLS certification
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Red Cross PALS
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Red Cross ALS required upon hire
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team
- Excellent communication skills required
- Requires physical stamina and emotional stability
Nice To Haves
- Emergency Communication Registered Nurse (ECRN) preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
- Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) preferred
- START/JumpStart (must obtain within 6 months of hire/transfer)
- At least one year previous experience in clinical unit preferred
