About The Position

This role involves providing direct nursing care within the Emergency Department at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN. The Registered Nurse will implement and monitor patient care plans, record and communicate patient conditions, coordinate care across different disciplines, carry out physician and nursing orders, and assess discharge planning needs.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire is required.

Nice To Haves

Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Trauma Nurse credentialed from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) preferred.
Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Care credentialed from the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) preferred.
Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Nursing Pediatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
