About The Position
Premiere Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Bridgton, Maine. This is a 12-week assignment with night shifts available. The role involves providing direct patient care in a fast-paced environment, developing care plans, monitoring patients, administering treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The position requires a BSN, current RN license, and various certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CEN. Additional facility-specific requirements may apply.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate required upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC required upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation required upon hire.
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting required.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Nice To Haves
- In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
- EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
- Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department during night shift, including triage, assessment, monitoring, and interventions.
- Apply the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and telemetry; respond rapidly to changes.
- Communicate patient status, diagnostic results, and treatment plans with physicians and the care team.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions per orders and protocols.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, discharge instructions, and follow-up.
- Supervise and coordinate LVNs/LPNs and nursing assistants as needed.
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Ensure EMTALA compliance and report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
- Participate in emergency response, trauma resuscitation, and critical care stabilization.
- Support patient safety initiatives and evidence-based emergency nursing practices.
