About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Registered Nurse for an opening at a hospital in Marrero, LA. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic Emergency Department/Emergency Room setting, managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team. Registered nurses are expected to manage various responsibilities while delivering safe, competent, and compassionate care to diverse patient populations in settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation centers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of LA and current BLS Certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN work experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity using established emergency nursing protocols.
• Provide direct emergency nursing care, including medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and trauma response.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement timely treatment plans in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
• Continuously monitor patient status and promptly recognize, document, and respond to changes in condition.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care.
