About The Position

Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) Deaconess Illinois Medical Center | Marion, IL PRN Days Compensation: $35.00 - $42.50/hour Make an Impact in Specialized Renal Care At Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, our Dialysis team provides life-sustaining care to patients with acute and chronic kidney disease. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Dialysis Unit and help deliver exceptional, patient-centered care in a collaborative hospital environment. This PRN opportunity is ideal for nurses who enjoy combining clinical expertise, critical thinking, and patient education to improve the lives of individuals requiring dialysis treatment.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross BLS certification upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care to patients receiving renal replacement therapies while ensuring safe, effective treatment and exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Assess patients before, during, and after dialysis treatments.
  • Monitor vital signs, laboratory values, and patient response to therapy.
  • Operate and manage dialysis equipment, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
  • Administer and monitor dialysis-related medications and treatments.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to treatment complications and medical emergencies.
  • Educate patients and families regarding dialysis treatments, medications, nutrition, and lifestyle management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  • Follow infection prevention and safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive patient care.
