About The Position
Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Dialysis Unit. This full-time position involves providing inpatient hemodialysis services to hospitalized patients requiring renal replacement therapy. The unit operates 24 hours a day, six days a week, with on-call coverage on Sundays. The role is crucial for supporting patients with both acute and ongoing dialysis needs, and care is delivered by Registered Nurses with specialized dialysis expertise.
Requirements
- Current state RN license
- Associates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS and BCLS required within six months of hire
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience preferred
- ASLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversees treatment of medical and surgical patients needing dialysis procedures.
- Dialysis delivery of care includes assessment, problem identification, interventions and treatments, and evaluation of actual, potential or perceived physical or psychological problems.
- Procedures or treatments provided in Dialysis include but are not limited to: dialysis admission assessment, medication, IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, pain control, O2 therapy, assisting physician with Quintons, dressing application and changes, Quinton Cath, declotting Quinton catheters, accessing AV shunt for diagnostic tests i.e. venograms, monitoring patient continually during Hemoreplacement treatment.
