About The Position

This role involves providing expert, direct nursing care during cardiac stress testing and diagnostic cardiology procedures. The nurse will ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions in real time. The position also involves acting as the clinical anchor for the diagnostic team, executing physician orders, and collaborating across disciplines for efficient patient care. The nurse will implement and monitor specialized cardiac care plans, track patient responses, and facilitate smooth discharges by assessing and coordinating patient needs and ensuring safe transitions.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Act as the clinical anchor for the diagnostic team by seamlessly executing physician orders and collaborating across disciplines to ensure efficient, well-coordinated patient care.
Implement and continuously monitor specialized cardiac care plans, actively tracking patient responses to testing to ensure optimal outcomes and immediate clinical intervention if necessary.
Assess and coordinate patient discharge needs following diagnostic procedures, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure patients are safely transitioned and well-informed of their follow-up care.
