About The Position

Southwest General Health Center is a 352-bed community hospital serving the Northeast Ohio region for over 100 years. As a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, we offer a full range of services. This position is for the Critical Care (CC-E) unit, a 24-bed unit that cares for both medical and surgical critical patients. We pride ourselves on an outstanding culture, great benefits, no rotating shifts, free parking, and a convenient location. We are looking for experienced nurses for this role, as the department rarely takes new graduates. There is no on-call requirement and no rotating shifts.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
Previous experience in specific nursing area strongly preferred.
Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
CPR, BLS, ACLS required.

Responsibilities

Plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders.
Acts as a liaison between physicians, patient, and family.
Collaborates with other health care members.
Assists in the orientation process of new personnel.
May participate in health center and department committees.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.
