The Critical Care Unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in the care of critical patients, with 24-hour intensivist/pulmonary/APP coverage. We offer an individualized, comprehensive 16-week orientation program that includes the Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO), ACLS certification, and NIHSS certification for new nurses. A mentorship program is available after orientation to support new nurses, and a residency program is offered for new graduates. This role provides opportunities for committee participation, a voice in nursing practice, and professional growth through a Clinical Ladder. There is leadership presence on every shift, and it provides a strong foundation for an advanced practice degree. Certification for Critical Care RN (CCRN) is achievable after 2 years of experience. This is a full-time position (72 hours biweekly) with a night shift (7pm-7am, 12-hour shifts) and requires working every third weekend. Eligible for shift and weekend differential.
