About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse on our Critical Care Float Pool at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. As a Critical Care Float Pool RN, you will float to the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. In a less frequent capacity you may float to Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical, Orthopedic, Medical, Observation, and Oncology. You may have additional opportunity to cross train in more areas if needs dictate. Requirements

  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • 1 year of IMC Float Pool experience or 2-3 years of acute care nursing experience
  • Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year experience
  • Experience with IV starts, medical code response, experience working in Emergency Department, ICU or Intermediate/Progreassive Care Unit

Responsibilities

  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s).
  • The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
  • The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
  • Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
  • Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
  • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
  • Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
  • Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
