About The Position

The purpose of the Registered Nurse Clinician is to provide medically prescribed infusion therapy to patients with acute and chronic conditions. The Registered Nurse Clinician will work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory infusion clinic setting. They will effectively utilize the nursing process to assess and care for patients, providing comprehensive nursing care in a professional, ethical, knowledgeable, and compassionate manner. This role involves providing disease and drug-specific education to patients and caregivers, complying with HIPAA and ACHC regulations, and participating in on-call rotations as assigned. The nurse will also travel to outlying clinics as needed and maintain knowledge of medical/nursing practices by participating in educational in-services. Essential nursing duties include accessing and maintaining central lines and PIVs, obtaining lab specimens, collecting vital signs, safely administering intravenous and injectable medications, documenting patient care, responding to and accurately reporting adverse drug reactions, and assisting with administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice.
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical specialty involving infusion therapy.
  • BLS or obtain upon hire.
  • Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medically prescribed infusion therapy to patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory infusion clinic setting.

  • Travel to outlying clinics as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical/nursing practices by participating in educational in-services.
  • Accurately perform all nursing duties according to the state nurse practice act while adhering to company policies and procedures including, but not limited to: accessing and maintaining central lines and PIVS obtaining lab specimens collecting vital signs Safely administer intravenous and injectable medications as ordered by prescribing physicians documenting patient care responding to and accurately reporting adverse drug reactions assisting with administrative duties as needed
