About The Position

This role involves acting as a trusted advisor to physicians and advanced practice providers, clarifying details and capturing the full scope of patient care. The Registered Nurse Clinical Documentation Improvement will conduct thorough admission reviews and collaborate with coding experts to ensure assigned codes accurately reflect the patient’s real-time clinical status. They will also work with the healthcare team to resolve documentation queries and address gaps before patient discharge. Additionally, the role requires serving as a subject matter expert, coaching and educating clinical teams on documentation best practices, coding nuances, and quality improvement opportunities. Maintaining clear, accurate records of review activities to validate the success and impact of CDI initiatives is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida.
  • Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
  • Five years of adult nursing experience.
  • PCU or ICU experience.

  • Work hand-in-hand with the broader healthcare team to resolve documentation queries and address gaps before the patient is discharged.
  • Serve as an ongoing subject matter expert, coaching and educating clinical teams on documentation best practices, coding nuances, and quality improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain clear, accurate records of review activities to validate the success and impact of CDI initiatives, helping to continuously improve processes.
