This RN position will predominantly support clinic triage needs. The teammate will be cross-trained to help with rooming to support clinic needs as well. The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to provide ongoing care (assess, plan, intervention, and evaluation). They recognize and respond to changes in a patient's status and need for care, determining priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs. The role involves providing triage and consultation to patients, families, and/or significant others according to protocol and organization guidelines, and communicating with physicians and other members of the health care team. Accurate and timely documentation of patient conditions is essential. Responsibilities include preparing and rooming patients for exams, performing laboratory procedures, assisting providers with procedures, administering medications, initiating and maintaining IV therapy, and providing patient education. The nurse will also follow through with necessary requests, referrals, and may perform advanced clinical tasks with demonstrated competency and supervision. Additionally, the role assists in staff orientation and educational activities, acts as a clinical resource, and may provide work direction to other staff. Organizing and preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, and maintaining equipment are also key duties. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of the patients served, understanding growth and development principles and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
