About The Position

Ascension Saint Agnes Cancer Institute is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Infusion Services department. This full-time, day-shift position involves administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy, monitoring patients for side effects, coordinating care with physicians and the multidisciplinary team, managing specialized vascular access and technology, and ensuring safety standards in handling cytotoxic agents. The role is based in Baltimore, MD.

Requirements

  • Certification specializing in Chemotherapy credentialed from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

  • Oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of life-saving treatments by administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy with precision, ensuring every protocol is followed to provide the safest possible care for our patients.
  • Advocate for patient safety by expertly monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions during infusions, taking immediate and decisive action to protect the well-being of those under your care.
  • Coordinate the oncology care journey by serving as the primary link between physicians and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that care plans and discharge goals are seamlessly executed.
  • Master complex vascular access and technology by providing expert care for specialized lines (such as Ports, Hickmans, and PICCs) and managing programmable pumps to maintain the integrity of treatment delivery.
  • Ensure a safe healing environment by practicing rigorous safety standards in the handling of cytotoxic agents, protecting yourself, your team, and your patients from hazardous exposure.
