About The Position

The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse- DPC RN is a licensed professional able to demonstrate proficiency and mastery of core competencies including assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership and service. This role delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner, utilizing and promoting evidence-based practice standards of quality, safety, and service.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Nursing or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • RNs hired after specific dates (2/1/2012 for South, 10/1/2017 for Bethesda, 10/1/2023 for Boca, 7/1/2018 for Fishermen's) with an Associate's degree will have 3 years from their date of hire to complete the BSN degree.
  • Completion of a preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent by department leadership for independent practice.
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, or ONS-Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card may be required as per department standard.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of oncology experience preferred.
