About The Position

The Registered Nurse Certified is responsible for delivering nursing care within the assigned unit’s scope of practice, following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, and standards of care and practice. The role is in the 9W Secured Unit, on the night shift, with daily work times that vary and 72 scheduled hours per biweekly period.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Hold a current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• Hold current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as a Healthcare Provider.
• ACLS is required within six months of hire for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit, Step-Down, and Telemetry Floats.
• NRP is required for RNs in Labor and Delivery.
• PALS is required for RNs in Pediatrics.
• PALS and TNCC are required within one year for RNs in the Emergency Department.

Nice To Haves

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS certification is preferred in other units.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess each assigned patient, document and evaluate the patient’s response to the plan of care, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Plan and implement the patient’s plan of care or standard of care, and provide patient teaching using that plan or standard.
• Oversee ancillary personnel performing technical tasks.
