The Center for Sleep Medicine (CSM) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work with a multidisciplinary team specializing in the management of sleep disorders. This role focuses on improving patient outcomes through chronic disease management education and assessing treatment response. The RN will also support physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) by managing ongoing patient care issues, thereby optimizing their availability for new consultations and complex decision-making. The role involves triaging patient phone calls, secured messaging, and prescription requests, and is accountable for direct patient care and phone care, including assessment, education, and interventions. The work schedule is weekdays during daytime hours, located downtown (Gonda). The RN is responsible for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care, supporting professional nursing practice across the continuum of care. The RN operates within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, adhering to the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. Leadership activities may include preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts. Delegation of patient care is based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are essential, with potential participation in committees or projects. Some employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship, requiring state licensure and VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
