About The Position
We are seeking a Registered Nurse with strong cardiac ICU experience, specifically in CCU or CVICU. This experience is crucial due to the advanced cardiac devices and diagnoses our patients often present with. Examples include LVAD, Impella, IABP, and TVP. Our CVICU or strong CCU/Cardiopulmonary ICU nurses are trained to manage cardiac/medical intensive care patients, including some step-down overflow. The role involves managing patients with Impella/IABP, ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring.
Requirements
- Strong cardiac ICU experience (CCU or CVICU)
- Experience with advanced cardiac devices (LVAD, Impella, IABP, TVP)
- Experience with Impella/IABP, ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIH certification
- Experience in interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Experience in management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with post-cardiac surgery patients (not directly from the OR)
- Experience with pre/post cardiac cath/intervention
- Experience with sheath removal
- Experience with a 2:1 patient ratio
Responsibilities
- Manage patients with advanced cardiac devices (LVAD, Impella, IABP, TVP)
- Monitor and manage patients on ventilators, CRRT, and invasive lines
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Provide care for post-cardiac surgery patients (not directly from OR)
- Provide pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention care
- Perform sheath removal
