Requirements

Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse.
Successful completion of BLS Provider Course prior to being released from unit orientation. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained.
Successful completion of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation course within 3 months of hire.
Successful completion of hospital crisis prevention training within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.
ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
Successful completion of Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) class within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
Previous Critical Care experience or a minimum of 1 year medical-surgical experience preferred.
CCRN and/or ANCC-Med/Surg certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Implementing the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice
Ensuring all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with GHMC-Catskills/Garnet Health Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements.
Exhibiting critical thinking, effectively organizing and triaging/prioritizing accordingly, and implementing evidence-based nursing.
