About The Position

North Alabama Medical Center features four Cardiac Catheterization Labs with one room dedicated to electrophysiology studies. The cath lab provides services for 13 cardiologists, two vascular surgeons, and one interventional radiologist. Our cardiac cath lab is a specialized unit that is designed to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease. Cath labs perform dye test on patients’ hearts and other vessels in the body. When interventions are needed, blockages are treated with balloons and stents. Cath labs are well known for placing stents in a heart during a heart attack. NAMC features the only interventional cath lab within 75 miles of Florence capable of treating heart attack patients.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • One to three years of work experience

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator.
  • Shaping exceptional patient journeys every day and leveraging skills and cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.
  • Initiation and continuation of nursing care for the patient before, during, and after the cardiac procedure.
  • Implementing proper nursing care for the patient, administration of drugs and medications, hemodynamic monitoring general knowledge, and set – up of all cardiac procedures.
  • Exercising judgement in the analysis of facts or conditions regarding patient care or hospital problems to determine what action should be taken within the specifications of standard practice.
