The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 3 suites, which perform a variety of procedures including cardiac catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implants, AICD implants, Electrophysiology studies, ablation procedures, and carotid stenting. The department also includes a 13-bay pre/post patient care area and performs TEE and cardioversion procedures. Orientation for new staff is extensive, ranging from 16 weeks to 6 months, covering all aspects of the department. All staff members participate in an on-call rotation. The nursing care provided is for adults 18 years or older, with no pediatric procedures. This is a full-time position (80 hours biweekly) with a Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shift. Eligible for shift and weekend differential. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing, and coordinating patient care through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This includes recognizing and treating the physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit.
