About The Position

The IU West Hospital Cath Interventional Radiology/Pre-post department provides patients with access to lifesaving treatments, cutting-edge technology, and research-based medicine. The team cares for adult patients using teamwork, strong critical thinking, and quick interventions. The RN provides hands on care for patients undergoing diagnostic heart caths, interventional cardiac caths, and electro physiology procedures as well as patients undergoing Interventional Radiology procedures. This position is for Part Time Days.

Requirements

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of critical care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands on care for patients undergoing diagnostic heart caths, interventional cardiac caths, and electro physiology procedures.
• Provide hands on care for patients undergoing Interventional Radiology procedures.
• Care for patients undergoing various procedures including: Heart catheterization, cardiac ablations, STEMI, IR procedures, pacemaker and AICD implantation and others.
• Utilize and gain knowledge of cutting-edge technology.
• Utilize critical thinking skills.
• Utilize time management skills.
• Perform patient education.
