About The Position

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Cardiovascular/Telemetry unit. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited Nursing program.
  • Knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care.
  • Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty.
  • Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the care for designated patients.
  • Initiates collaboration and communication with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve patient needs.
  • Synthesizes data to make decisions that optimize patient outcomes based on ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality and safety using evidence-based practice.
  • Participates in evidence-based practice and research projects.
  • Uses effective and appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication styles with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
  • Coordinates and provides patient and family education throughout treatment to facilitate effective transition of care.
  • Functions as a department team member to support unit and hospital goals.
  • Participates in performance improvement processes and patient experience goals.
  • Performs validated technical skills based upon clinical specialty and unit practice.
  • Utilizes technology to optimize alternative modes of care delivery.
  • Demonstrates leadership and team building skills, including teaching and mentoring new colleagues and interns.
  • Delegates tasks based on team member skills, patient acuity, and time availability.
  • Provides input for performance appraisals of care delivery team members.
