About The Position
The Cardiovascular Stepdown unit provides RNs with experience in managing patients who have undergone cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and those experiencing cardiac dysrhythmia or myocardial infarction. The unit also cares for vascular surgical patients, including those with femoral-popliteal bypass, abdominal aortic aneurysm, carotid enterectomy, and carotid stents. This unit has been recognized with a silver-level Beacon Award from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses for its commitment to continual learning and optimal patient care.
Requirements
- BSN required or commitment to obtaining a BSN within three years of the date of hire
- Two years of cardiac stepdown nursing experience required
- BLS required
- Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware

- ACLS preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide care for cardiac cath, angioplasty, cardiac dysrhythmia, myocardial infarction, and vascular surgical patients.
- Manage patients including those with femoral-popliteal bypass, abdominal aortic aneurysm, carotid enterectomy, and carotid stents.
