About The Position

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) specializes in caring for acute patients with a variety of disease states. As a destination center for higher-level cardiac care in Southern California, CVICU implements progressive programs and therapies. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in cardiac surgery, heart failure, shock, advanced resuscitation measures, and mechanical circulatory support including ECMO, LVAD, Impella, Tandem Heart, IABP, and CRRT. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice, focusing on Cardiac Diagnosis. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. They will work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. The CVICU is committed to education and hands-on training opportunities to take nurses from novice to expert in cardiac care through customized training with Clinical Mentors, Educators, and one-on-one preceptorships.

Requirements

Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
One (1) year of recent RN experience in an adult ICU
California Registered Nurse License
Current American Heart Association BLS
Current American Heart Association ACLS
Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in nursing
1 year of recent RN experience in a CVICU
Experience with Hemodynamic Monitoring in heart failure and cardiac surgery population

Responsibilities
