The Cardiovascular Critical Care (CVCC) nurses provide compassionate, excellent care to patients with complex conditions, including those recovering from open heart surgery, CABG, valve and aortic aneurysm repair, heart and lung transplants, VADs, peripheral vascular surgeries, and ECMO. The unit houses the state's only lung transplant program and has received accolades such as a VAD Certificate of Distinction, Gold Award for ECMO Center of Excellence, and multiple DAISY Award recognitions. The unit fosters a supportive learning environment with real-time education from a Clinical Advisor and leadership present on both day and night shifts.

Requirements

  • An Associates of Nursing (ASN).
  • An active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Experience as a nurse.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN).
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Approximately 30% of CVCC nurses are certified.

Responsibilities

  • Treat patients with compassion, care, and clinical excellence.
