About The Position
We are hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiothoracic Stepdown unit at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. This is a PRN Nights position. The role involves providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating with other disciplines, carrying out physician and nursing orders, and assessing discharge planning needs.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

- Cardiac experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
