About The Position

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse Cardiology Special Procedure for our St Johns Hospital in Maplewood, MN and Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN locations. This position will provide patient care to clients across all acute care sites using all modalities of stress testing, transesophageal echocardiograms, bronchoscopy, CTA and stress MRI. Works closely with non- invasive cardiology team and cardiologist to provide safe care for both inpatients and outpatients. This position is a 0.75 FTE role (60 hours per two weeks) working 8‑hour day shifts Monday–Friday, starting at 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. and ending between 1:00–1:30 p.m. or 3:00–3:30 p.m. depending on departmental needs, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts. Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards. Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements. Utilizes nursing process by: planning, implementing and evaluating care given to assigned patients. Assists physicians with special procedures including admission, sedation and discharging of both inpatients and outpatients. Monitors flow of day to day operations at site in conjunction with other charge RNs at other acute care sites. RN Core Competencies - Assessment, Planning, Evaluation: Collects and analyses pertinent data and/or clinical findings. Incorporates clinical findings and scientific evidence in the development, coordination and implementation of an individualized plan of care to achieve desired outcomes. Evaluates progress towards goals and outcomes identifying opportunities for improvement and change.

Requirements

  • RN Bachelor's Degree
  • Registered Nurse MN (RN)
  • 2 years critical care experience
  • Experience in providing conscious sedation
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)- could be acquired during orientation
  • Emergency Room expereince
  • Experience in cardiac care
