About The Position

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Cardiac unit. This role is crucial in supporting patients and the community by providing quality care. The cardiology team at North Alabama Medical Center offers an integrated approach to heart care, from prevention and diagnostics to surgical treatments and rehabilitation.

Requirements

  • Current Alabama or compact state RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Basic Life Support required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred, must be obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
