The Diagnostic Cardiology RN provides comprehensive nursing care across echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), tilt table testing, cardiac stress testing, EKGs, and Holter monitoring. Responsibilities include pre-procedure assessment and patient education, IV access and medication administration, hemodynamic and rhythm monitoring, sedation and recovery support for TEEs, and continuous assessment during exercise and pharmacologic stress testing. The RN recognizes and responds to adverse events such as arrhythmias, hypotension, syncope, or ischemic changes, maintains ACLS readiness, ensures accurate documentation and regulatory compliance, and collaborates with physicians, technologists, and advanced practice providers to support safe patient flow and expanding diagnostic cardiology services. Service hours are weekdays, Monday through Friday. RNs rotate on-call coverage on Saturday mornings to provide stress testing for clinical decision unit cardiac patients, as needed.
