This position plays a critical role in supporting patients across key transition points in their cardiac care journey, contributing directly to procedural success, recovery outcomes, and continuity of care. This is an opportunity to practice in a dynamic, multi-environment setting where you will build advanced cardiac and procedural experience while working alongside an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced, evolving unit. The Cardiac Transition Unit supports patients across procedural, recovery, and inpatient preparation workflows, creating a highly interactive and adaptable nursing environment. This role blends hands-on patient care with procedural exposure and cross-team coordination, offering a more comprehensive clinical experience than traditional unit-based nursing roles. On any given shift, you will rotate through responsibilities that expand both your skillset and perspective. This role is ideal for RNs from cardiac, ICU, or step-down backgrounds, as well as those looking to break out of a more traditional workflow and gain broader experience across the cardiac care continuum. UVA Health offers a compelling environment for nurses who want to work at the top of their license while continuing to grow professionally in an academic health system known for innovation and clinical excellence. As part of UVA Health, you will join a Magnet-recognized nursing organization within a nationally respected academic medical center. The Cardiac Transition Unit further strengthens this value by offering a unique, evolving care model with strong leadership engagement and a focus on team development. Practice within a leading academic health system connected to the University of Virginia, with access to cutting-edge research, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Be part of a Magnet-recognized nursing culture that emphasizes professional governance, evidence-based practice, and career advancement. Gain exposure to a highly regarded cardiac program with advanced diagnostics, interventional care, and specialized heart services. Work in a non-siloed RN role, experiencing procedural, acute care, and recovery workflows within one unit. Join a growing and evolving department where leadership is actively shaping workflows, culture, and future direction. Take advantage of career development pathways, including procedural specialization, certifications such as ACLS and PALS, and future leadership opportunities. Benefit from a supportive staffing structure designed with patient safety and nurse support in mind. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates. This is more than a job. It is a chance to build a broader, more advanced clinical profile within a health system committed to nursing excellence and continuous growth.
