About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Stepdown unit provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. This role involves implementing and monitoring patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient conditions, coordinating care across disciplines, executing physician and nursing orders, and assessing patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
