About The Position

Our Cardiac Step-Down Unit is looking for dedicated night-shift nurses to work three 12-hour shifts per week. In this fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, you’ll provide exceptional care to patients recovering from cardiac events and procedures. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License
  • A compassionate, patient-centered RN committed to delivering excellent care
  • A nurse who is eager to learn, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic clinical environment
  • A collaborative team member who values communication and shared success
  • A professional who upholds the New York State Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and UHS standards
  • A responsible, flexible caregiver dedicated to clinical excellence and continuous growth

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
  • CCRN certification
  • Additional skills certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC)

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for an assigned group of patients
  • Serve as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment and patient safety needs
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion, treatment plans, and disease management
  • Utilize pharmacology knowledge to safely administer medications in accordance with UHS policies
  • Support effective resource use, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services
  • Adhere to all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies
  • Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, Unit Council activities, and improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to peer review processes and integrate evidence-based practice and nursing research
  • Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees, students, and clinical observers
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support safe, effective patient care
