Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license
  • Experience in Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation
  • Knowledge of exercise prescriptions and risk stratification
  • Ability to assess physiologic responses to exercise
  • Proficiency in utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Ability to collaborate with healthcare team members

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with telemetry monitoring
  • Familiarity with St. Joseph's Healthcare System's nursing philosophy

Responsibilities

  • Directing the care and progress of patients in the Inpatient and Outpatient Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs.
  • Reviewing medical records of patients, selecting pertinent data to initiate and implement patient specific plan of care.
  • Collaborating with other health care team members in planning patient's care.
  • Implementing exercise prescriptions for patients being mindful of their risk stratification.
  • Assessing physiologic responses to exercise, including vital signs, telemetry rhythm, and subjective patient responses.
  • Adjusting exercise levels as indicated/appropriate.
  • Utilizing the Nursing Process in a collaborative manner to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in accordance with his/her scope of practice.
  • Supporting the goals and philosophy of the Department of Nursing within the St. Joseph’s Healthcare System and on his/her assigned unit.
