About The Position

This position is responsible for the daily operations of the cardiopulmonary rehab exercise program equipment area. Position also responsible for assisting participants with equipment orientations. Monitor Telemetry, provide participants guidance in safe and proper usage of all fitness equipment, performing preventive wellness assessments, baseline assessments, organize and implement programs pertaining to cardiopulmonary rehab and attend health fairs/outside events representing Augusta Health Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program. Exercise physiologist will also provide education to inpatients discussing cardiovascular risk factors, cardiovascular diagnosis, and benefits to attending the Phase II Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program. Other duties include: Taking Blood Pressures, Palpate pulse, Pulse Ox saturation and perform blood glucose check.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia required
  • BLS Required
  • 1+ year of recent medical surgical or long-term care experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced nursing education (e.g., Bachelor of Science in Nursing [BSN], MSN preferred)
  • ACLS within 6 months of employment required
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation Nursing Certification (RN-BC), or Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) preferred.
  • 1+ year of Cardiac Rehab experience preferred.
