About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Cardiac Recovery position is within the Vascular Care Unit. This is a full-time role with a day shift schedule, consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week. The role does not require weekend or holiday work. The position is located at UAB St. Vincent's East in Trussville. The nurse will provide direct nursing care, implement and monitor patient care plans, record and communicate patient conditions, coordinate care among disciplines, carry out physician and nursing orders, and assess discharge planning needs.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
