About The Position

Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family. The Cardiac Electrophysiology Nurse is a highly specialized member of the EP Lab team, providing expert care to patients undergoing advanced procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. EP Nurses play an integral role throughout all phases of electrophysiology procedures, including patient assessment and preparation, hemodynamic and rhythm monitoring, sterile procedural scrubbing, and circulating support during complex ablations and cardiac device implants such as pacemakers and defibrillators. Working collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, the EP Nurse combines advanced clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and critical thinking to promote patient safety, procedural excellence, and optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current Connecticut RN license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and to work well under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • 2-3 years nursing experience preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in critical care, emergency or equivalent experience preferred
