About The Position

Via Christi, St. Francis is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for their Cardiac ICU. This position is for the night shift. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University. The role involves taking ownership of personalized care plans, monitoring and communicating patient condition changes, coordinating care across medical disciplines, interpreting and carrying out physician and nursing orders, and participating in discharge planning.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of implementing and evolving personalized care plans, ensuring every clinical intervention aligns with the patient’s unique needs.
Meticulously monitor and communicate changes in patient condition, acting as the vital link between the bedside and the broader medical team, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Serve as the primary coordinator across all medical disciplines, harmonizing efforts between specialists, therapists, and physicians to deliver seamless, holistic care.
Interpret and carry out physician and nursing orders with a high degree of clinical expertise, maintaining the highest standards of safety and excellence.
Participate in the discharge planning process, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure patients and their families are prepared and supported for their journey home.
