About The Position

The Cardiovascular Device Nurse will provide thorough, competent interrogations and reprogramming of cardiac devices implanted in patients, including, but not limited to Pacemakers, Implantable Loop Recorders, and Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators. This will include device interrogations completed in the inpatient, procedural, and outpatient settings as well as remotely monitored patients. The Cardiovascular Device Nurse will complete initial interrogations, report generation, charges, and documentation in the Electronic Health Record and Device Management Systems as well as bring acute/urgent issues to the attention of providers. The nurse collaborates closely with other members of the Heart Rhythm Service Line care team as well as other allied health staff and providers external to the department. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS competency from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, excellent critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • One year RN experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with electronic health record systems preferred.
  • Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Responsibilities
