The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. In the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, you will have the opportunity to work primarily day shifts hours (10 or 12 hr), 1 call shift per week, every 5th weekend on call, and only 1-2 holiday call shifts per year! Procedures performed in our lab include: Left and right heart catheterizations with percutaneous intervention, Complex chronic total occlusion, Emergency care, Electrophysiology procedure (ablation, pacemaker, ICD and Bi-Ventricular implants), Peripheral Angiograms with intervention, Catheter-directed thrombolysis or thrombectomy for pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis, IMPELLA heart pump placement, Intra-aortic balloon pump placement, Structural heart procedures (Left atrial appendage closure, Mitral clip, Transcatheter aortic valve replacement). Nurses in our unit grow in their professional practice, gaining critical skills for the complex care of our cardiovascular patients. We accept all types of nursing backgrounds and are willing train the specific critical care skills needed for this unit.
