About The Position

Plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned. The 3PST (Patient Service Tower) is a 20-bed cardiac step-down unit with all private rooms, serving Adult and Geriatric patients. Our Care team consists of Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Unit Clerks, Resource Nurses, Care Coordinators, a Clinical Educator (CE), and a Patient Care Manager (PCM). Our PCM and CE are available to support our clinical needs with access to education, resources, guidelines, and protocols. Our electronic medical record is EPIC. We offer flexible scheduling within schedule guidelines and a Weekend option.

Requirements

Associates Degree in Nursing or equivalent required
Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure
Acute Cardiac Disorders
Cardiac Dysrhythmia Requiring Drug Therapy/Adjustment
Pre and Post Surgery Requiring Telemetry Monitoring
Post-CT surgery
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills
Verbal and written skills required
Demonstrates effective organizational and leadership skills
Has knowledge of the age-specific physiological and psychosocial, developmental and spiritual needs of the patients typically served
Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs
Visual acuity for observation of patients
Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting
May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
Must be able to lift 35 pounds
