About The Position

Humber River Health, opened in 2015 as North America’s first fully digital hospital, aims to change healthcare. It serves 850,000 residents in North West Toronto, focusing on Equity, Inclusivity, and active participation in the North West Toronto Ontario Health Team. The hospital uses a custom combination of technology and clinical expertise to rebuild elements of care, giving staff and physicians more time with patients, eliminating inefficiencies, and reducing errors. Humber River Health is formally affiliated with both the University of Toronto and Queen’s University and is committed to becoming a community academic hospital, with a research strategy framed by Clinical Excellence, Optimizing Care through Technology, and Community Connection. The organization is dedicated to high reliability care. The Oncology team provides a full range of support to patients living with cancer, at all phases of their cancer experience, including consultation, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and palliative and supportive care. The hospital has a large Cancer Care Outpatient Clinic for chemotherapy treatments and actively participates in Oncology clinical trials, being the first community hospital in Ontario to do so. Oncology nurses specialize in treating people with cancer, serving as their first line of communication, helping to coordinate and deliver many aspects of a patient’s treatment, including administering medications, fluids, and cancer treatments such as chemotherapy. They are caring individuals dedicated to assisting patients as they undergo treatment. Humber River Health is recognized as a part of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers, supporting employees through evidence-based leadership and cultivating a culture of engagement. It is a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN) and is deeply involved in research and academic collaboration, demonstrating values of compassion, professionalism, and respect.
