About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse on the Birthplace Unit at our Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. This role is a .6 FTE (48 hours every 2 weeks) with 12-hour night shifts and every third weekend rotation, offering a variable schedule. Fairview Lakes Medical Center provides high-quality primary and specialty care and has received a 4-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The Birthplace unit is a dynamic and collaborative environment where RNs are cross-trained in Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, OR circulator and PACU (c-section care), pediatrics, and nursery. Cross-training to med/surg may be required. All RNs are trained in lactation support, with some holding Certified Lactation Consultant credentials. Requirements

MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
4-6 months postpartum experience
Current NRP certification

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Med/Surg experience
STABLE certification

Responsibilities

Responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) in accordance with policy, procedure, professional practice guidelines, and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
Coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes, involving the patient, family, and health team members in gathering data.
Uses an ongoing, systematic process to gather relevant information (biological, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects) from patient and family.
Analyzes data and information to identify potential risks, prioritize needs, and determine priority problems.
Identifies and documents outcomes that are age-appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic, and attainable.
Develops an individualized nursing plan of care.
Prioritizes and implements interventions based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/family preferences and needs.
Collaborates, consults, or makes referrals if unable to perform safely and independently.
Anticipates, recognizes, and responds to emergent situations.
Promotes a culture of evidence-based practice (EBP) and presents EBP findings to peers.
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service, adjusting approaches to reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.
