About The Position
The successful incumbent will provide triage and care to the pregnant woman throughout labour and birth including vaginal and Caesarean deliveries, recovery of the Caesarean mother, and maternal and newborn care within the LBRP model.
Requirements
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Obstetrics (including intra-partum care) required
- Current Obstetric O.R. certificate and/or experience required
- Proficient in venipuncture and IVs
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required
- Current Fetal Health Surveillance course
- Competency with vaginal exams during labour
- Breastfeeding certificate required
- Demonstrated ability to assist and support breastfeeding
- Demonstrated commitment to family centered care
- Dedication to continuing education
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
- Good communication skills with a clear patient focus
- Ability to manage execution
- Ability to foster teamwork and cooperation
- Must provide availability of a 0.60 FTE

- Perioperative experience an asset
- Perinatal Nursing Certificate an asset
Responsibilities
